Fee waivers are available to offset article processing charges (APCs) in Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses, the official journal of the International Society for Respiratory Virus (ISRV), which is published by Wiley.
Wiley’s partnership with Research4Life enables research from institutions in low- and middle-income countries and locations to be published open access by providing automatic waivers and discounts on APCs.
Authors from low-income countries receive a full waiver, while those from lower-middle-income countries receive a 50% discount. Eligibility is determined automatically based on the corresponding author’s affiliation during manuscript submission.
To maintain editorial integrity, Wiley ensures that editors are not involved in any payment discussions. APC waivers are applied through the submission system without author action.
In addition to the Research4Life program, some Wiley journals may offer additional waivers in exceptional cases, such as for authors affected by conflict or disaster.
This support aligns with ISRV’s mission to promote global research on respiratory viruses, including influenza, RSV, and HMPV. By reducing financial barriers, Wiley helps ensure broader representation in scientific literature.
