Organised by Hadi Yassine (Qatar University) and Rebecca Cox (University of Bergen), the 6th ISIRV School of Respiratory Viruses took place at Qatar University from 19–23 January 2025. ISIRV partnered with the Biomedical Research Centre and WHO Collaborating Centre at Qatar University, WHO EMRO, and Gulf CDC to deliver an intensive training programme. This was the largest School to date (over 120 attendees), and was heavily oversubscribed, emphasising the need for this sort of capability building in particular regions of the world. ISIRV supported 44 participants from the EMRO region, with additional students from across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
