The first annual Wiley Prize for Early Career Research Scientists was awarded in 2026 to Daniel Aguilar from Spain. The 2027 Wiley Prize winner will be announced in early 2027.
The shortlist of ECR candidates will again be drawn from RSV-related articles published in ISRV’s journal, Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses (IORV), with the highest number of accesses in each month of 2026. The corresponding author of each month’s most-accessed article then nominates one or more ECR co-authors who made a significant contribution to the study. The ISRV Executive Committee assesses the finalists’ contributions alongside their CVs and selects the winner.
The winner of the 2027 Wiley Prize will receive:
- US$1,000 from Wiley Publishing.
- Free registration for the RSV 2027 meeting or another ISRV meeting of their choice.
- A publication fee waiver for a manuscript accepted for publication in IORV in 2027 or 2028. The winner must be an author, and the manuscript is subject to the usual editorial requirements.
- Two years of free ISRV membership.
Finalists will also receive two years of free ISRV membership.
