6th ISIRV School on Respiratory Viruses

Overview

The ISRV School on Respiratory Viruses is designed for early-career scientists working in public health, surveillance, research, or product development. The event provides in-depth education on respiratory virus epidemiology, immunology, molecular biology, and control measures. Since 2011, nearly 300 students have participated in ISIRV Schools worldwide.

Program Overview:

  • Day 1: Global impact of respiratory viruses, diagnostics, surveillance, and academia-industry collaboration
  • Day 2: Influenza virus — epidemiology, structure, vaccines, antivirals, and study design
  • Day 3: RSV and SARS-CoV-2 — mechanisms, vaccines, and epidemiology
  • Day 4: MERS and One Health — zoonoses and pandemic preparedness
  • Day 5: Student presentations and future research discussions
