Free full and early career participation for residents of low and middle income countries
The associate fee for individuals who reside in a low- and middle-income country (as defined by the World Bank) and meet the criteria for either Full or Early Career associate fees may be waived. Free participation for LMIC residents is by special application and requires supporting documentation from the applicant and their employer.
If you reside in a qualifying country and would like to apply for LMIC participation, please email the enquiries team. You will be asked to provide the necessary supporting documentation and then will be advised on how to submit your associate application. Please note you must meet the associate eligibility criteria for either Full or Early Career association. The acceptance of all applications association will be at the discretion of the ISRV Council.
Eligibility and supporting documentation
Applicants upload two documents that prove that they reside and work in one of the listed LMICs. All documents must be in English.

- Employment contract/proof from employer or university
Document two:
One of the following
- proof of residency in an LMIC no older than one year
- a phone/utility bill in your name (document must be dated within the last year).
Please note copy of a passport is not sufficient

Early Career
Early Career Researchers are defined as individuals who have a maximum of 8 years (whole-time equivalent) of professional experience following the completion of their highest academic degree (e.g., PhD, MD, Master of Public Health) or equivalent.
This does not include those who have completed Habilitation*. The intent is to include individuals with advanced degrees and significant post-degree experience in research, public health, clinical, or related fields. When assessing eligibility, ISRV will consider reasonable concessions or accommodations (e.g. those who have worked part-time and have taken career breaks) on a case-by-case basis to ensure equitable participation and opportunity.
*The highest post-doctoral academic qualification in several European countries, authorizing holders to teach and conduct research as a professor.
