Ten seats available, including reserved positions for early career and regional representatives
The International Society for Respiratory Viruses (ISRV) is calling for nominations for its 2025 Council elections, inviting members to take on a key leadership influential role. This year, ten council seats are up for election, comprising five regular positions open to all ISRV members and five reserved seats dedicated to early career researchers and representatives from specific geographic regions.
Each year, one-third of ISRV’s 30 elected council seats are contested, ensuring steady rotation and fresh perspectives. The reserved seats include one for an Early Career Researcher (ECR) – defined as an individual with up to eight years of professional experience following their highest degree – as well as one representative each from Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South America. ECR eligibility criteria can accommodate candidates who have taken career breaks or worked part-time.
Members are encouraged to nominate themselves or fellow ISRV members for these roles by submitting a completed nomination form to the ISRV administration before midnight (International Dateline) Friday 1 August 2025.
This year’s election offers an important opportunity for ISRV members to contribute to the society’s strategy for 2026-2030 and ensure representation from diverse regions and career stages. Members interested in shaping the future of ISRV are urged to participate in the nomination process.
