The scientific program is tailored to address current knowledge gaps and challenges in using correlates of protection to support approval of next generation influenza vaccines. The meeting opens with lessons learned from applying correlates to other vaccines, followed by the latest updates in mucosal immunity, B and T cell responses, and early career researcher presentations.
On the second day, advances in standardisation and assay harmonisation, animal models, and study design will be discussed. The final day begins with a keynote address by Marco Cavaleri, followed by sessions on the latest developments in pandemic vaccines, mRNA and other platforms. The day concludes with a regulatory roundtable featuring representatives from WHO, EMA, and FDA, as well as industry leaders, to explore the path to licensure for next generation vaccines.
Professor Rebecca Jane Cox, Co-Chair of COP said “Establishing robust correlates of protection to ensure the rapid advancement of next generation influenza vaccines is essential for the future of influenza virus control. We are delighted to bring together such a diverse and accomplished group of influenza scientists, clinicians, regulators, and policymakers to advance the field.”
