He leads both the Johns Hopkins Center for Excellence in Influenza Research and Response (JH-CEIRR) and the Center for Emerging Viral Infectious Diseases (CEVID), with a research focus spanning influenza, coronaviruses, and other emerging and zoonotic viruses.
With more than 250 publications, Dr Pekosz is a recognised authority in the field, contributing to scientific journals, NIH review boards, and global discussions on biosafety, vaccines, and pandemic preparedness.
