Options XIII brings the global influenza community together in Washington, DC

The International Society for Respiratory Viruses (ISRV) welcomed the global respiratory virus community to Washington, DC, for the Options for the Control of Influenza XIII Conference, held from August 30 to September 2, 2026 at the Washington DC Convention Center.

As the largest global scientific meeting focused on influenza prevention, control, and treatment, Options XIII brought together leading experts in virology, clinical care, public health, and vaccine research to share the latest evidence, exchange ideas, and strengthen international collaboration. The program also included sessions addressing other respiratory viruses.

The scientific program was organized across four key tracks: Clinical Science, Public Health, Virology & Pathogenesis, and Implementation. Across four days, delegates took part in plenary sessions, concurrent symposia, invited presentations, oral abstract sessions, and interactive poster sessions.

The conference also provided opportunities for networking and collaboration, including dedicated activities for early career researchers. Options XIII was preceded by the ISRV Options Mini-School on August 29, providing an additional opportunity for learning and engagement.

The meeting concluded on September 2 with a closing plenary reflecting on the discussions and scientific developments presented during the conference and looking ahead to the future of influenza science, policy, and control.

ISRV would like to thank everyone who attended, presented, organized, and contributed to making Options XIII a success. We look forward to continuing the collaborations and conversations that began in Washington, DC
