Options XIII Mini-School FAQ's

Who can attend the Mini-School?

The Mini-School is aimed at graduate students and young scientists (Early-Career Researchers – ECRs) who are starting, or are in, the early stages of a career in virology, public health, surveillance, research or product development. ECRs are defined as individuals who have a maximum of 8 years (whole-time equivalent) of professional experience following the completion of their highest academic degree (e.g., PhD, MD, Master of Public Health) or equivalent.

What is an ISRV Mini-School?

The Mini-School is an intensive day before the start of the Options meeting with presentations to provide participants with a comprehensive scientific grounding in many aspects of influenza, RSV and SARS-CoV-2 ranging from theoretical concepts to basic techniques used in research and surveillance. It supports ECRs to deepen their understanding of respiratory viruses and maximise their experience at the Options meeting.

The learning objectives for the Mini-School can be viewed here.
